Grumpy men, Bears, and shifters in my mountains, definitely not on my agenda.

Moving to a mountain cabin was supposed to bring me inspiration, not a tall, burly, gorgeous, brooding billionaire next door as my landlord.

The minute I laid eyes on him across the field, it was game over. Nothing but passion on my mind.

His muscles, his demeanor, his … melted me like chocolate fondue.

I just wanted inspiration for my next novel, but found protection and passion instead.

I didn’t need protection, or so I thought. The passion, well, yeah..I’m up for that.

His arrogance, how dare he tell me where I can wander around!

His warnings, his insistences, his presence, his eyes … kept me saying No, until the tree…

I was craving peace, quiet, ambiance, and chatty neighbors. I ended up craving him.

Could supernatural beings, and dark forces be the beginning or the end of my writing career, or of me, or of us?

Shifting Bear Hearts is the first title in the Bear Hearts series, and brings us a definite sunshine/grump trope in Samantha and Grant.  This shifter romance is light-hearted and full of chuckles and head shakes.  I absolutely loved it.

Samantha is a writer experiencing writer’s block, and she has a book deadline hovering over her.  She’s rented a cabin near the forest in this small town in the mountains.  Too bad the cabin also comes with a total grump of a landlord who thinks he has the right to tell her what to do, and where not to go.  Grant’s bear clan lives on this ranch, and the chatty, impulsive human is rather annoying.  Loved the suggestions as to what to do with this never-silent human.  But there’s trouble in the area; people have gone missing.  Grant’s suggestion for Sam not to enter the forest is simply fuel for her to do exactly that. 

He’s accepting the idea that this chatterbox who never listens to reason is his mate.  Yet he also has to keep her safe.  I adored her interactions with a bear she named Biggie, not knowing exactly why this “wild” bear was so docile and protective around her.

I enjoyed Shifting Bear Hearts by KC Wilde so much.  It’s a well-written story full of laughter, danger, steam, and suspense.  Samantha and Grant fit so well together, total opposites in so many ways, that they end up balancing each other.  If you love a shifter romance that will give you all the feels and the laughter you could ever ask for, along with a couple you can’t help but want a happy ending for, then you’d love this one.
