She thinks she’s chasing a killer. She’s about to find out he’s been across the garage from her the whole time.
And he’s the only thing in this town keeping her alive.
Sadie Quinn came to my town to find out why her brother never came home. She’s sharp, relentless, impossible to lie to twice — exactly the kind of stubborn that got Owen killed.
So every question she asks pulls her closer to the people who did it, and every day she stays, I get more desperate to keep her breathing. Because someone already wants her gone the exact same way.
What she doesn’t know is I’ve started closing the shop early just to walk her back, and making two cups of coffee at the open bay door like the second one isn’t hers.
I let one Quinn slip through my hands already. I’m not burying another.
My clan’s law says send her home before she digs any deeper. The bear already decided: she’s already home.

Title: OverBearing
Series: ~Standalone~
Author: Neve Raine & Milly Taiden
Published: October 15, 2026
My Rating: 4.5 stars
OverBearing is an intense, intricate standalone title by Neve Raine and Milly Taiden, a writing duo I’m really enjoying. Sadie is an investigative journalist who is searching for her brother, Owen, who disappeared years ago. They were in the foster system, and Owen aged out first but always promised he’d come back for her. He didn’t… or something prevented him from doing so. Sadie is determined to discover what happened to her brother, and the only clue is a small town’s name. She’s asking questions someone doesn’t want answered, and they’re willing to kill to keep certain knowledge from becoming public.
I enjoyed Sadie and Gareth’s story so much. It is full of questions, danger, and secrets… and a man who can’t resist protecting the woman who needs answers, even though he believes they’ll destroy them. This town holds so many secrets, and watching Sadie and Gareth follow clues, put themselves in danger, and see events through to the bitter end made for an exciting read. Their story is well-written, intriguing, emotional, and passionate, with unfolding events that Gareth will find hard to reconcile. I was easily drawn into this story. If that sounds like your kind of Paranormal/Shifter Romance with a romantic suspense twist, you’ll enjoy OverBearing.
