I thought the mate bond meant I had finally found my protector… But the Alpha didn’t claim me—he sentenced me to death.
Xaia
I’m a nobody waitress, just trying to keep my little sister fed. When the powerful Alpha heir recognizes me as his fated mate, I expect to finally be safe—not thrown into a cold, dark cell.
Then the devastating truth is revealed before the entire pack: I carry the bloodline of a traitor.
Karl is proud, ruthless, and dangerously powerful. To quell a pack rebellion, he publicly rejects our bond. I barely escape into the night with a shattered soul—and a secret pregnancy. Six years later, I’ve rebuilt myself as an untouchable PR expert. But a million-dollar contract forces me right back into his territory.
He thinks he’s finally trapped the prey that got away. He has no idea the five-year-old boy waiting for me at home has his exact amber eyes.
Karl
After I sacrificed my mate to stop a pack war, I lived as a hollow shell. But the real enemies are still hiding in my court, and I need her close.
She’s cold. Untouchable. Nothing like the terrified girl I broke. I told myself I’d use this business contract just to keep her safe from afar. But now, her scent is driving my wolf feral. I want more than just her forgiveness. I want to make her mine—forever.

Betrayed by the Fated Alpha is the sixth title in the Alpha Fated Bonds series. Xaia and Karl’s tumultuous relationship quickly burst into flames of passion, then ended with Xaia’s mate’s betrayal, his rejection of her, and the end of their bond. She is the granddaughter of an accused traitor, and, regardless of their connection, to avoid a pack war, Karl publicly rejected their mate bond. Xaia, along with her sister and the unborn heir that Karl is unaware of, escapes and rebuilds their lives elsewhere. That restructuring of her life has made her into a top PR expert, a woman well able to take care of herself, her sister, and her precious son, whose eyes constantly remind her of his father. She’ll do anything to protect them… yet, forgiving Karl will be the hardest challenge of all.
Karl finally acknowledges the mistake he made in rejecting Xaia and has been searching for her for longer than they were together. His plan was to protect her from a distance, but the reality is far more difficult as the mate bond flares again, only now his mate is a force to be reckoned with. And falling into his arms again is not on her agenda. With the true traitor still at work within the pack, Karl and Xaia’s lives are at stake as the future of their son hangs in the balance. Trusting that Karl will really protect them this time is a risk Xaia hesitates to take.
I enjoyed Betrayed by the Fated Alpha. There were times when I wanted to reach into the story and smack Karl upside the head for his actions. There comes a point where a leader has to stop listening to others’ “opinions” and judge a situation (past or current) through their own interpretation of the “truth”. Karl grew up with the lies, the stories, the belief that there was only one truth… spoken by a traitor. Watching his growth as a leader and as a man worthy of Xaia’s trust was an emotional journey. He did some stupid things, yet when it counted, he was there for his mate. Their story is well-written, engaging, emotional, full of hidden dangers, and a passion that won’t die down. If that sounds like your kind of Paranormal/Shifter romance, then you’d enjoy Xaia and Karl’s story.
