Alpha’s Cursed Hidden Heir is the second title in the Feral Hearts Saga (according to the Amazon series page), yet this title is also listed as the first story in the Lunar Bond series.  This doesn’t surprise me, as sometimes a sub-series will start within an established series.  I’m just noting it for reference when checking out the Lunar Bond series at some point.

Faith and Drake met in high school, from “rival” small towns that once had been a complete community, but sibling rivalry (according to legend) divided them… one rather affluent, uppity, the other more down-to-earth, yet has fallen into a downward spiral with a drug-related reputation over time. Faith had been crushing on Drake for some time now, and as they left high school behind them, that crush became an intimate reality as both acknowledged the other as their mate.  What Drake couldn’t do was be able to tell Faith that they had no future, as he could/would never have a son due to a family curse; he let the mate bond begin to form.  Only to be forced to break it due to his nasty piece of work father.  

Faith was crushed, especially when she had to tell Drake something important and he would not listen to her, rejecting her completely in front of friends instead.  She fled the area, the pack, and set out on her own, vowing to never see his face again.  Unfortunately, almost ten years later, Faith would need Drake’s help when their son fell ill.  Only she wasn’t expecting the revelations that Drake gave her.

Alpha’s Cursed Hidden Heir by Flora R. Leigh is intense.  And, frankly, Drake deserved all the anger and rage that Faith hit him with, even though he was stopped from telling her the truth.  The race to find a cure for their son is frantic, desperate, and emotional.  Watching this couple reunite, acknowledge the bond that still exists between them as they search for some way to help Joseph was both heartbreaking and uplifting.  They were brought back together, only to face a difficult choice, one that could not be avoided.  I loved the unique ending to their story.  I should have seen it coming; there were clues looking back, but it had such an emotional impact at the time.

If you love an intense, emotional, passionate shifter romance with twists that will keep you on your toes, then you’d love Alpha’s Cursed Hidden Heir by Flora R. Leigh.
