Hunted by the Bear is the second title in the Iron Mountain Bear Shifters series, bringing us Wren and Silas’ romantic adventures… well, when handcuffs are involved, it’s not only a romantic journey but an adventure as well—and then there’s the danger facing Wren and Silas.  Wren knows, without a doubt, that her mother is no murderer, but since her mother made defending herself so difficult, it’s up to Wren to follow the clues and bring the evidence that she’s certain exists to light.  She never could have expected what following those clues would lead to, or that the man who held the final key would be who he is, or the control he’d have over her own future.

Everything you’d really “need” to know before picking up this story is found within the cover description.  Going into further details would be heading into spoiler territory, and I try not to do that. What I can safely say is that Hunted by the Bear is well-written, emotional, steamy, and drew me in from the opening page.  Wren is talented and stubborn, but she’s met her match in both with Silas, a grizzly bear shifter who defends his mountain and his secrets with dedication and a security system beyond compare.  We get a chance to run into the couple from the first story, Claimed by the Bear, plus some returning characters with their own stories to be told… eventually.

I’m enjoying this world very much.  The villain here is vile, beyond the usual nastiness; the supporting cast begs to have their stories told (I need to know more about one particularly closed-off clan member), but I enjoyed their interactions with Wren and Silas in their story.  If that sounds like your kind of Shifter/Paranormal Romance, then you’d enjoy this one.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.  I am so grateful to the authors who put their work into KU.  Frankly, my book budget only stretches so far, and KU lets me access so many series to dive into.
