Delilah Moonstone never planned to come back to Celestial Pines — not with a suitcase full of secrets and a heart still bruised by the boy who ghosted her under a full moon.
But when her grandmother’s magic shop starts losing its spark (and her talking cat starts offering unsolicited dating advice), Delilah finds herself face to face with Rollo Steele—her growly, flannel-wrapped ex, who now runs a magical animal sanctuary and looks like he could chop wood with his emotions.
Their reunion? Less sweet and more sassy. But the forest is acting strange, Wren is fading fast, and the town’s enchanted muffins have stopped glowing.
Delilah came home for duty. She didn’t expect fate to throw in a grumpy bear shifter, a magical mystery, and a second chance at the one man she swore she’d hex if she ever saw again.

Title: Cub My Way
Series: Celestial Pines #1
Author: Kala Aster & Milly Taiden
Published: June 26, 2025
My Rating: 5 stars
Cub My Way is listed as the first title in the Celestial Pines series, featuring Delilah and Rollo’s emotional reunion romance. I say “listed as” because I had read Pawsitive Romance (through Booksprout), which seems to have disappeared, that sets up some of the villainous parts of this one. And the hero and heroine of that earlier book are mentioned towards the closing of Cub My Way. It’s a mystery. I mentioned it because, in my mind, Pawsitive Romance set the pace for this series. I enjoyed it immensely. However, this is what the authors are offering now: their series, their choices. I just hate to see a lovely story get lost in history, I suppose.
Anyway, on to Cub My Way. I loved this story and this couple. They are fated mates, but Rollo wasn’t ready; he panicked, and in the end, sent Delilah away to Salem, where she’s been living these past years. She’s returned now to help her beloved grandmother, who is fading and in ill health. The forest surrounding Celestial Pines is being attacked, its magic twisting, turning, and Delilah knows she has to return to set things right… not to run into the bear shifter who broke her heart, and she hasn’t stopped loving him. Setting things to right isn’t going to be easy, yet their bond grows stronger as they work, often in their own solo ways, to protect and heal the people, the land they love.
I adored Cub My Way by Kala Aster and Milly Taiden. Rollo and Delilah are both stubborn people with hurting hearts, and watching them heal their own wounds as well as those of the forest, the town they love, was an emotional journey. Garrett is a very nasty piece of work, and it will take all of their abilities to vanquish him for good. If you love a well-written, emotional, steamy, and addictive romance, then you’re going to love this one.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the author or the author’s team via Booksprout, and I sincerely thank them for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
