Dylan Hoffman is a human on a mission. A few years ago, his brother was Turned into a grizzly shifter in a baffling way, and now that the dust is settled, Dylan needs to know what happened that night. He’s back in his hometown to hunt down the Maker who turned his world upside down, but this city is different from how he remembers. Roxy is a dancer who has been gobbled up by a ruthless Crew of shifters that has this town terrified. She is a member of the Grit-Bron Crew, but doesn’t fit in, and definitely didn’t choose this life. When Dylan Hoffman saunters into her club one night, she can’t believe her eyes. He was lucky enough to escape this place once, so why in the world would he come back here? There is a war building in this city, and his timing couldn’t be worse. She knows she needs to stay far away from him, but she can’t seem to leave him alone. With every dark secret that unravels, Roxy is losing more and more of herself, and right now, she can’t figure out if that’s a good thing or something that could wreck the course of her life forever.

Ever since Dylan showed up in this dead-end town, Roxy has been headed straight for destruction…but perhaps destruction is just what the Grit-Bron Crew deserves.

Cold Foot Revenge is the seventh and final title in the Wreck’s Mountains series, where Dylan finally gets his story told and finds his mate, Roxy.  Dylan is human, the brother of Garrett, who was turned against his will in a vile attack.  When Garrett’s bear was completely out of control, it was Dylan who moved them from place to place, finally getting his older brother into Wreck’s new (at the time) crew.  Now,  Garrett is settled with his mate, his family… and Dylan can concentrate on his new or maybe renewed purpose, finding and destroying the shifter who turned his brother.  He might have an idea of the danger he’ll face, yet he has no real clue of the danger he, himself, will be in when searching for this faceless monster.

Roxy feels trapped in her hometown, which has been so changed by a vile and cruel new Alpha.  She’s a dancer (and only a dancer) in a strip club where she’s barely surviving.  When Dylan arrives at the club, she recognizes him and quickly realizes the danger he’s in.  Trying to get him to leave quietly, she’ll also attract his attention in a way that she should not encourage.  It’s hard enough to get through the days without knowing that men like Dylan still exist.  Roxy and Dylan are about to get caught up in a scheme far more involved than Dylan’s need for revenge.  A danger that will bring down the wrath of not only Wreck’s crew, but Damon Daye as well.

It’s always a touch bittersweet when a series, especially one in the Damon’s Mountains universe, comes to an end.  Although it’s been shown that no one ever really says goodbye, we’ll often see familiar faces from the earlier stories.  Roxy and Dylan’s romance is full of passion, danger, vile enemies, and those familiar faces… and perhaps, some new allies as well.

We’ll soon have a newly created crew to get to know, and I’m looking forward to that time.  I loved Cold Foot Revenge, even though there are some (for me) unanswered questions – I’ll be doing a reread before the next series starts, because perhaps I missed clues that would explain those gaps that I felt.  But it wasn’t enough to take away any of my enjoyment, so dive in and enjoy a well-written, dangerous, passionate, loyal crew’s final adventure.
