Ilona Matthews is nursing a broken heart by baking hundreds of cookies for her great-aunt’s Christmas party and delivering groceries to a friend of a friend who can’t get off the farm. When a unicorn out of legend attacks her, she thinks that’s the most incredible thing that’s going to happen that day. Then she locks eyes with the incredibly sexy Turner and her heart tells her that he’s who she wants—forever!

Ilona says she wants time, Turner’s willing to give her whatever she needs, but Maisey, the pregnant unicorn, has ideas of her own. Hopefully, by Christmas Day, all three of them will get not just what they want, but what they have always needed.

A Unicorn Foal for Christmas is a delightful Christmas novella in the Animal Rescue Shifters series.  It’s short, spicy, and definitely Christmas-y with one pregnant unicorn with attitude who can only be calmed by one human, who up to this moment was unaware of unicorns… or a wolf shifter who just happens to be her fated mate.

I had such a lovely time with Ilona, Turner, and of course, Maisey, our attitude-filled, very pregnant unicorn.  As this is a very short novella, I’m going to leave the details that might entice you to pick this one up to the cover description’s magic.  To say much more would be giving away too much of this short story, so I’ll speak to the emotions involved here.  I loved Ilona and Turner as they navigate the sudden fated mate situation with caution on Ilona’s part and absolute joy on Turner’s.  Maisey adds much to their story and is just as important as our couple in this one.  

Their story is well-written, full of emotions with both tender and laugh-out-loud moments… and shenanigans provided by Maisey.  I enjoyed myself so much in this world, and if you love a Christmas Shifter Romance that is just the right amount of sweet and spicy, you’ll love this one.
