The Alpha’s Grave Secrets begins the Special Paranormal Investigative Unit series with a story that quickly grabbed my attention and never let go until the final page… and even then, it lingered.  The opening pages of Kato and Elara’s story are intense; there is no other word to describe what Elara is experiencing at that moment.  Another type of intensity surfaces when she faces Kato, a man from her past, a connection neither has ever forgotten.  Kato may be leading the investigation into the danger targeting Elara, but he knows full well what seeing her again means to him.  Fighting that pull is one of the most difficult things he’s ever done, yet keeping her safe and this madman captured must be his priority no matter the emotions that they each try to keep hidden from others… and especially from each other.

I was completely captivated by and immersed in The Alpha’s Grave Secrets.  Anything you need to know before picking up this story can be found in the cover description; anything beyond that is heading into spoiler territory, which I try very hard not to do.  Yet I can safely say that I was easily and quickly drawn into Elara and Kato’s story, and the feeling of intensity of both danger and sexual tensions was a real thing in the room.  It’s obvious that this couple belongs together; they just need to get to the point where they acknowledge it.  The danger is very real and insidious as Kato and his team search for clues through twists, turns, and dead ends, trying to find this killer before they strike again.  As secondary characters, Kato’s team were excellent, easily making this story believable, and my curiosity was now piqued about their own stories to come in the series.

Elara and Kato’s story is well-written, engaging, emotional, dangerous, and passionate.  There is a bit of worldbuilding, yet I expect that with the first story of any series.  I’ll definitely be returning to the series to learn what comes next for these characters.  If that sounds like your kind of Paranormal Romantic Suspense, then you’d enjoy The Alpha’s Grave Secrets.
