Lexi Darling has always been a city girl through and through. I loved everything about Some Kind of Haunted, the first book in a (so far unnamed) duology.  It has bits of cozy mystery, paranormal romance, and even a touch of horror tossed in, taking place in an unassuming small town with definite creepy vibes – the perfect setting for Lexi and her twin brother, Logan, to arrive and set a lot of things into motion.  The cover description will tell you just about everything you’d want to know before picking up this book.  There’s a lot going on, and I don’t want to trip into spoiler territory.

I found Some Kind of Haunted to be engaging, well-written (but I expect that from this writing duo), and emotional on different levels, with lots of mysterious happenings and one creepy town that just wants them to stay… no, actually, the town itself doesn’t want them to leave.  You’ll understand once you start this one, promise.  If you love spooky stories as we head into the spooky season (Halloween is just around the corner right now), then you’ll love Lexi and Logan’s story.  There’s a mystery to solve, perhaps some romance brewing, quirky residents, and an ancient curse about to crack wide open.  It does leave some things unanswered… but, in my opinion, that is for the second book to fill us in on, and I’m looking forward to its release.  I had fun here, and look forward to returning.  If you love to be scared out of your wits, maybe intrigued by a cozy mystery with a touch of horror involved, then you would enjoy this one.
