Xavier, the Alpha of the Blue Bear Rescue clan, has brought in a private investigator to try to find out who exactly is out to ruin the rescue team.  Obviously, there are Shifter haters among the townsfolk, or maybe simply instigators brought in from an outside source.  But this cannot continue unchecked or unaddressed so Xavier hired Delilah – and that’s when things got interesting.

The Blue Bear Rescue group is a wonderful rag-tag bunch of jokers, grumpy bears, an intense gorilla shifter and what some might call a shaman…a magic man.  Now Nash has visions, they don’t always come true exactly to the letter of what he sees – but usually close enough to be besides the point.  And a vision he’s seen is haunting Jake.  His bear standing over an wounded or dying woman with blood on his mouth as though Jake had killed this woman.  Jake doesn’t believe himself capable of harming a woman, yet Nash’s vision leaves him uneasy.  Especially when the P.I. that his Alpha has hired is the spitting image of the woman in that cursed vision.

Delilah is stubborn, capable, feisty, human and Jake’s mate.  Which simply strikes fear into Jake, how could he ever harm his mate?  It makes no sense.  But as he gets to know Delilah, admire her spunk and her sheer sexiness Jake makes the decision to harm himself before he would ever be the cause of one scratch on this beautiful woman.

Funny thing about visions – they are full of possibilities, not actuality.  When it becomes obvious that the trouble his clan is having has a direct link to Jake’s past he vows to do everything in his power to protect his mate and his friends – and if that means putting his own life on the line, so be it.

I adore Jake.  He’s funny, charming and sexy as all get out – and loyal to a fault.  His mate is a perfect match for this bear who has gone through the foster system and seen the ugliest parts of it, as his mate has as well.  They are indeed a perfect match.  And sexy times between these two definitely sizzle.  *grin*
