Purrfectly Mated begins The Maverick Pride series with a steamy, funny, dangerous at times story full of all the passion, action, and shenanigans you’ll ever want in a Shifter Romance.

Sometimes fate works in weird ways, and blind dates can turn horrendous very quickly.  Elissa found that stepping in for a friend was both the worst and the best decision she’s made recently but she has to get through the creepy-guy part before that fantastic future unfolds for her.  When Lissa’s disgusting blind date makes that one move when she’s been saying no all night long she gives him a good slap, jumps out of the car, and is on her own far, far from home.  And to top it all, it’s pouring rain with lightning and thunder.  Wonderful.  Fine, she’ll walk home until fate or Uncle Uzzi shows up and offers the drowned female a ride.  Stranger danger, right?  But there’s something about this older gentleman that doesn’t send off any bad vibes for Lissa… and it is raining buckets out there so taking a chance she accepts a ride from a stranger that will change her life in so many fantastical ways.

She’s about to meet Hunter, the Neta (or Alpha) of his Tiger Pride who is the reason Uncle Uzzi is even in the area.  This Neta needs to find his fated mate.  Not only he but his pride needs the stability of a mated leader.  Elissa has no clue what is about to happen or how the decision to place her fate in a stranger’s hands will turn out… but fate has everything covered.

There are three characters I absolutely loved and adored from the very start of Purrfectly Mated – Uncle Uzzi for he is like a magical elf who is still so deeply in love with his departed mate and has his own touches of magic to add to the mix – Elissa for she is down on her luck now but there is nothing docile about her, she’s strong, at times stubborn, and completely capable of defending her new mate and new pride from any danger they might face – and Hunter who carries a heavy load leading these unique tiger shifters and needed the special connection with his fated mate.

I loved this story, it is engaging, definitely steamy, with action-packed moments, and dangerous ones as well.  Hunter and Lissa just fit so well together.  And no spoilers here, but they will encounter one villainous nasty piece of work, and the outcome is an amazingly intense journey to follow along on with this couple.  Secondary characters matter so much to me for they add another dimension to the story and the possibilities for the future that every series needs.  I’m anxious to see what the future holds for several folks I met in this first story… time will tell.

If you love a story that will draw you into another world, characters that leap off of the page, steamy moments and tender ones as well, and watching two strangers fall… hard, then Purrfectly Mated and The Maverick Pride series is a perfect match for you.  I cannot wait for the next story, and I’ll definitely be following this series to the end… and maybe beyond if there’s a spin-off.  (One can only hope.)
