Nanny For the Bear is the third title in the A Second Chance at Bear Creek Lodge series and delivers a good story full of mystery, danger, and one slightly grumpy bear finally finding his mate when least expected… and under unusual circumstances.  Trouble is, Zoey is his mate, but she’s hiding so much that as much as he feels the mate bond, he’s also left with unanswered questions that put additional pressure on what should be a happy situation.

I enjoyed Zoey and Darrell’s romance, but I must admit I absolutely loved the amount of Fiona time we got in this story, the fiery, feisty, dragon shifter side of Fiona.  She is probably my favorite of all the characters in this Bear Creek connecting universe, mainly because you do not mess with a dragon, and you certainly don’t cross Fiona!  Ever.

There are a lot of unanswered questions as Nanny For the Bear begins… more than I’m used to in this world.  Yes, both Darrell and Zoey have issues, and they each had a complicated life before meeting – the instant connection was there for them both, yet they both hid vital facts from each other, and I’ll admit that bothered me a bit.  It’s not until the very last few chapters that we learn what Zoey actually does professionally… and that was not what I was expecting at all.  Perhaps it’s a good thing to shake things up now and then.  I loved being back in this world enough that the small things did not make a difference to my enjoyment of the story – only I was often puzzled by the mistrust between them at times.

In all, Nanny For the Bear is an excellent addition to this series, and I’ll be diving into the next story soon.
