Left Cold, Wolf Owned is, at this time, a standalone title, although I really hope this becomes a series because the secondary characters who made this story come to life deserve to have their stories told… and I really want to know more about them.  This is the first time I recall reading Viven Voss’s work, yet Milly Taiden is a favorite author, and I will always grab any book with her name attached.

Harper left her cheating, scheming, nasty piece of work, now ex-fiancé, if not actually at the altar but close enough to count, got into her car, wedding dress and all, and drove until her car gave up the ghost and she started walking looking for sanctuary.  Which will turn out to be her destiny; she simply isn’t aware of that yet.  But Logan is; his wolf senses her before she even knocks on his cabin door.  He never dreamed that finding his fated mate would be this complicated.  Doing the right thing may cost him everything he needs, yet he will accept no other choice.  He might have already chosen Harper, but she needs the time to actually choose him.  And he’ll give her that time, while making certain she’s safe while she’s deciding on their future, even if that means leaving him behind.

I completely enjoyed Left Cold, Wolf Owned.  It’s an engaging story full of intriguing characters, with enough tension and suspense to keep me flipping pages.  The secondary characters, Logan’s pack, gave life to this story with their varied personalities, different approaches to problems, and the solidarity they surround Harper with from almost the start.  In many ways, I’d call this a slow burn of not only sexual tensions, but of building a relationship, testing realities, and acceptance of boundaries.  I am going to say that I found a few inconsistencies in the story, the kind that, for a moment, takes me out of the story and back into the real world.  They didn’t affect my enjoyment of the overall story, certainly not my star rating, and to be fair, perhaps not everyone would “see” them.  Still, I dislike being yanked out of a story for those reasons, but that’s me.  Overall, Harper and Logan’s story held me captive, gave me some tender moments, definitely steamy ones, a group of people who are beyond pack but family, and a vile villain to loathe.  I’d not hesitate to recommend this one, and I do hope it becomes a series one day.  One can wish, right?
