One of the many reasons that I love (and read) Shifter Romance so much is the diversity in not only characters but in the worlds that the authors create.  Much of the lore remains the same but with little additions, small tweaks that make each author’s worlds unique and enjoyable.  This is extremely true with the world that the Paranormal Night Club series takes place in.  While Shifters live among the humans they rarely (and usually for good reason) shift here.  They aren’t hidden for many humans know of their existence yet they don’t advertise it either.  Which makes for intriguing stories full of interesting situations for our heroes and heroines to find themselves in.

Into the Dragon’s World introduces Brady, a dragon shifter prince who has made the choice to live his life on the human side of the portal… with good reason.  For underneath the building he owns and where he runs the nightclub, Paradigm, lies one portal to the Shifter realm.   Brady is the guardian of that portal and he is content to protect it.   He has no interest in taking over for his father, the king of their realm but hopes to convince his father that his sister, Alix, would be perfect for that role… the jury is still out on whether that will ever happen.  Brady is hot, handsome, aloof, and self-contained.  He holds guilt close to his heart, an event that prevents him (in his mind) from fulfilling his mother’s greatest wish, that Brady would find his mate.  He’s done with messy human emotions… or so he thought until Casey tumbled into his life.

All Casey wanted was to complete her studies and get the education that will take her into the career she wants.  The last thing she ever expected was to find herself with a stalker, not an ordinary stalker but her professor who also happens to be a bear shifter.  He is one nasty piece of work and his actions are accelerating to an extremely dangerous level.  Casey will turn to her friend Jasmine (a panther shifter who works for Brady) for help which puts her directly in Brady’s path… and, of course, our hero messes up immediately.  (Men! Shifter or Human!)

Into the Dragon’s World is fast-paced, action-filled, and completely hooked me on the story, this world, and these characters from the beginning.  I liked both Casey and Brady individually but together they shine.  In many ways, their romance is a slow burn that intensifies, bursts into flame, and then is filled with an increasingly charged level of danger as Casey’s stalker turns even more violent as time moves on and Casey eludes him.  Sizzlingly sexy chemistry?  Oh, yes.  Yet there is also an underlying romance of two people, at times tiptoeing around their emotions each afraid that only they feel this way.  Which leads to some interesting conversations.

I loved stepping through the portal into Brady’s world.  Such a contrast and it worked so well with this story… overly protective baby sister and all.

I had such a good time with the opening story of the Paranormal Night Club series.  Interesting characters, sexy, sensuous moments, real danger, a vile, loathsome villain and secondary characters that I’m hoping will get their own stories soon.  I can’t ask for anything more than that.  If you love an action-filled romance with danger, sexy times, and a couple to cheer on to their happy ever after moment… then start this series, right now.
