Fated to the Alpha is the second title in the Tolstone Wolf Shifters series.  I’ll be frank and say that I have not yet read the first title, Marked by the Alpha… and I wish I had, because some of the events in Kimberly and Shane’s story started in that first book.  I was able to get caught up in their story easily; I just like some background or world-building when starting a series, so I’ll definitely go back and catch up.

Kimberly and Shane have some serious past issues from when they were high school sweethearts.  Nothing quite like having her family kicked out of the pack to put a definite halt on young love.  After recent events, Kimberly’s wolf has been silent, and she is struggling with her own (and her wolf’s) trauma.  She hopes that spending quiet time in the woods surrounding Tolstone will help her wolf emerge again.  She never expected to scent her former boyfriend or to have him step in to help her now, considering their past.  Their reawakened emotional pull will either save them both or destroy more than themselves.

I enjoyed Fated to the Alpha.  It’s well-written, emotional, and passionate, and it quickly drew me into the situation Kimberly and Shane are facing.  Ms. Bitikofer is a new to me author, and I’ll definitely go back to the beginning of the series while looking forward to more in the Tolstone Wolf Shifters series.  If this sounds like your kind of Shifter Romance, then you’d enjoy Kimberly and Shane’s journey.
