When my car breaks down in a snowstorm with my five-year-old daughter, I knock on a stranger’s cabin door deep in the mountains. Kane Wolfe is massive, bearded, and clearly wants to be left alone, but he lets us in anyway.

Curvy Girl and the Mountain Man Wolf is the third title in the Cedar Falls: Fated Mates series, and brings us the unexpected romance between Lois, a single mother fleeing from betrayal, hoping for a fresh start with her daughter, Lily, and Kane, a wolf shifter who mistakenly believes his wolf is too dangerous to be around people and has isolated himself in the mountains.

I enjoyed Curvy Girl and the Mountain Man Wolf.  Lois and Lily are stranded during a blizzard and reluctantly seek shelter with Kane.  He recognizes his fated mate, but is also convinced that he’s too dangerous for them to be together.  I loved watching walls slowly break down between them, and trust begin to form during their forced proximity during the storm.  Lois will surprise Kane with her strength, her stubbornness, and when his secret is revealed, by not running away as fast as possible. His protectiveness and growing love for her daughter, Lily, warmed my heart.  They make a strong family together, if only they’re willing to trust and take a chance on each other.

If you love a well-written, emotional shifter romance with humor, steam, and intrigue, then you’ll love Lois and Kane’s story.
