My car broke down in front of a grumpy bear shifter’s cabin in the middle of nowhere.
He just happens to be my older brother’s best friend, and the last person I’d ever want to be trapped with.
But it started snowing.
And considering my brutal fiancé is hot on my heels, hiding out with the grizzly seems like a better option than risking my life to get away in the middle of a storm.
When his beast goes insane and bites me in an attempt to claim me as his mate, crap hits the fan fast.
We have to fight our urges to finish the bond he started between us, or we risk connecting ourselves permanently.
Not to mention that my fiancé will legitimately kill me.
Or that bear shifters don’t stay with their mates.
I can’t afford to give in to my lust… even if it starts to look a little like love.

Title: Bearly in Love
Series:
Author: Lola Glass

My Rating: 3.5
Bearly in Love is a standalone title, although it does seem connected to other series. Madi is on the run from an unwanted arranged marriage to an alpha who basically wants a baby machine to churn out daughters for sale. Yeah. Great guy (sarcasm). She falls far short of her destination when her useless piece of junk car catches fire, and she is rescued by her brother’s best friend, Ambrose (Bo). Due to back-to-back snowstorms, Madi is stuck at Bo’s cabin and completely unhappy about it. And she’s not shy about letting Bo (and us) know just how much she hates Bo, doesn’t want to be there, intends to escape as soon as possible, like he’s holding her there or something… spoiler, he’s not. Bo has been obsessed with Madi for years now. He won’t put an emotion on what he feels, but he certainly cannot let her die in a snowstorm, or marry an alpha that basically bought her. They both have conflicting feelings about each other, and it shows in banter, sex, lots and lots of sex.
For me, Bearly in Love by Lola Glass is a good story. I simply could not like or care about Madi as I was constantly annoyed by her. I know that I was supposed to understand why Madi and also Bo were the way they were – unable to define what love is, unwilling to accept that mates can be fated, and from the way both of their parents treated them, it’s obvious why they couldn’t make that connection in what they were feeling. I simply could not get beyond the way I was constantly annoyed by Madi’s words, her actions throughout the story. And, frankly, that is on me, not the author. Bearly in Love by Lola Glass gets a four (4) star rating from me for the level of writing by the author. I wish I could have loved this one, but I simply couldn’t.
