Bearly Chased is the second title in the Bearly Mates series and brings us a couple who have a fiery first meeting and a complicated courtship with a hint of underlying danger in the wings.

Caitlyn never imagined the girls’ night celebration for her new job would wind up as a quick hook-up with a bear shifter.  Oh, she was completely human but one of the women she was out with that night knew exactly who and what Max was.  One fantastic night, the first day on the new job, then Caitlyn discovers that her one-night stand just might take a different direction as Max turned out to be her very sexy, very interested new boss.  An office romance wasn’t her style, but Max knows he’s found his mate… and he can be very stubborn.

I loved this couple so much.  Equally stubborn often for different reasons, it was fun to watch Caitlyn’s walls crumble and Max’s attempts at a courtship that doesn’t rely on his sexiness.  Caitlyn is good at her profession (and her former teenage profession as well), and it doesn’t take long for her to realize that the books for the company just don’t add up.  Now we add in the danger element as Caitlyn’s questions draw the wrong people’s attention.  Max is so determined to win his lady over, and so protective of her as well.  Caitlyn has to make a choice, and given her childhood it’s going to take some trust in a future with Max before she makes that decision.  Funny, steamy, a bit dangerous, and a lot enjoyable.  I had a blast back in this world, and now on to Bearly Mated.
